Analyze Kubernetes cluster issues through MCP with K8sGPT
SkillCloud & infraOnce added, your AI can check a Kubernetes cluster for problems and explain them in plain language. It scans the cluster, identifies unhealthy resources, and returns prioritized suggestions for what to fix first. This gives you a clear starting point whenever something in the cluster looks wrong.
Available today. Use it from your connected AI after setup.
No other account needed.
Add the skill, then ask your AI to scan your Kubernetes cluster and explain what needs fixing. Start with a simple request like checking what is unhealthy in the cluster right now.
Then ask your AI: use the Analyze Kubernetes cluster issues through MCP with K8sGPT skill
What your AI can do with it
- Scan a Kubernetes cluster and find unhealthy resources
- Explain what is wrong with each problematic resource in plain language
- Prioritize cluster issues so the most urgent ones surface first
- Suggest what to fix, described in natural language
What this skill tells your AI
The instructions your AI receives, as published by agentskillexchange/skills in skills/analyze-kubernetes-cluster-issues-through-mcp-with-k8sgpt/SKILL.md and read by ahel’s review.
Run K8sGPT as an MCP server so an agent can scan a Kubernetes cluster, explain unhealthy resources, and return prioritized remediation clues in natural language.
Prerequisites
A reachable Kubernetes cluster, K8sGPT, and an MCP-compatible client
Installation
Use the upstream install or setup path that matches your environment:
- brew install k8sgpt
- brew tap k8sgpt-ai/k8sgpt
- built from the source. k8sgpt Install Clang or run brew install gcc.
Requirements and caveats from upstream:
- K8sGPT can be integrated with Claude Desktop to provide AI-powered Kubernetes cluster analysis. This integration requires K8sGPT v0.4.14 or later.
- Analyzer Node took 160.109833ms
- Node
Basic usage or getting-started notes:
-
Quick Start
-
If you install gcc as suggested, the problem will persist. Therefore, you need to install the build-essential package.
-
Currently, the default AI provider is OpenAI, you will need to generate an API key from OpenAI
