Frontend E2E Check
SkillWeb & browsingLets your agent run browser tests that check an ITSM app's pages, logins, and workflows with Playwright.
Instructions available. Your AI can read the instructions. Execution depends on the setup they require.
Account requirements not reviewed. Check the skill instructions before use; ahel provides instructions and does not run this skill.
Add ahel to your AI once: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code or Codex. Then ask it to use this.
Then ask your AI: use the Frontend E2E Check skill
About this skill
Run and diagnose ITSM browser checks with the repository's TypeScript Playwright suite. Use for UI health checks, login/navigation verification, responsive checks, module smoke tests, screenshots, or browser regressions.
What this skill tells your AI
The instructions your AI receives, as published by heidsoft/itsm in .trae/skills/frontend-e2e-check/SKILL.md and read by ahel’s review.
Environment
- backend:
http://localhost:8090; - frontend:
PLAYWRIGHT_BASE_URLorhttp://localhost:3000; - tests:
itsm-frontend/tests/e2e/*.spec.ts; - artifacts:
/tmp/itsm-playwright-results.
Confirm services before running tests. Reuse tests/e2e/auth-utils.ts or the role fixtures
instead of duplicating login logic.
Confirm runtime identity, not only port availability:
lsof -nP -iTCP:3000 -sTCP:LISTEN
lsof -nP -iTCP:8090 -sTCP:LISTEN
docker ps --format 'table {{.Names}}\t{{.Image}}\t{{.Status}}\t{{.Ports}}'
Record whether the frontend is the current dev server, current production build, an older Docker image, or unknown. Do not treat behavior from a stale image as proof about current source.
Run
cd itsm-frontend
npm run test:smoke
PLAYWRIGHT_SKIP_CHANNELS=1 \
npx playwright test tests/e2e/navigation.spec.ts \
--project=chromium --workers=1
For a module, select its focused spec such as tickets.spec.ts, incidents.spec.ts,
changes.spec.ts, or a file under business-flows/.
Assertions
Verify more than rendering:
- intended role can enter;
- heading, loading, empty, error, and permission states are understandable;
- controls work using role/test-id selectors;
- API-backed actions observe the expected response;
- successful data survives refresh or revisit;
- narrow viewport has no body-level horizontal overflow.
Use page.waitForResponse for mutations. Do not use arbitrary sleeps as the primary
synchronization mechanism.
Diagnose failures
Inspect the Playwright error context, screenshot, video, and trace. Separate:
- first-time Next.js compilation latency;
- stale/brittle selector;
- missing backend or authentication;
- stale Docker image or mismatched seed credentials;
- CSRF bootstrap/header/token-rotation failure versus an RBAC 403;
- actual product or API regression.
Fix the product and keep a focused regression test when behavior is user-facing.
If login is blocked, report browser verification as blocked. Continue with independent evidence such as the public CSRF endpoint, client tests, backend handler tests, type-check, production build, and route manifests, but do not call that a passed authenticated E2E flow.
