gsd-thread
SkillDev toolsgsd-thread is a skill for managing persistent context threads for cross-session work. It lets an agent create, list, update, and close threads stored as lightweight files, so knowledge for work that spans multiple sessions but does not fit a specific project phase can be saved and resumed later. The agent can reopen a thread when needed or mark it resolved when the work is done.
Then ask your AI: use the gsd-thread skill
Details
Instructions available. Your AI can read the instructions. Execution depends on the setup they require.
Account requirements not reviewed. Check the skill instructions before use; Ahel provides instructions and does not run this skill.
No other account needed.
Make sure the skill is available to your agent and that it can read and write files.
What your AI can do with it
- Create a persistent context thread with a name and description
- List threads, filtered by open or resolved status
- Show the status of a thread by its slug
- Update an existing thread with new knowledge
- Close a thread by slug when the work is resolved
- Resume a saved thread in a later session
Getting started
- Make sure the skill is available to your agent and that it can read and write files.
- Create a thread by giving it a name and description for the cross-session work.
- Add knowledge to the thread as the work progresses.
- List threads to see which are open or resolved.
- Close the thread by its slug once the work is done.
What this skill tells your AI
The instructions your AI receives, as published by open-gsd/gsd-core in skills/gsd-thread/SKILL.md and read by Ahel’s review.

Questions
- What is a context thread?
- A lightweight file that stores knowledge for work spanning multiple sessions but not tied to a specific project phase. The agent can resume it later or mark it resolved.
- How do I list threads?
- Use the list argument. You can filter with --open or --resolved to see only threads in that state.
- How do I close a thread?
- Use the close argument with the thread slug. This marks the thread resolved when the work is done.
- How do I check a thread's status?
- Use the status argument with the thread slug to see its current state.
- Where are threads stored?
- Threads are stored as lightweight files. The skill reads and writes them, so the agent needs file access.
