About this capability

Use when designing a tiered reward system for contributions or ranking officials by merit. Classifies service into four tiers: moral guidance (封邑 grants), administrative execution (卿位 titles), military labor, and routine service, allocating rewards systematically from highest to lowest.

A four-tier framework for classifying and rewarding contributions based on the nature and impact of service.

Overview

This system ensures fair recognition by categorizing contributions into distinct tiers, each receiving appropriate rewards.

Classification Tiers

First Tier - Highest Reward

  • Criteria: Guided the leader with benevolence and righteousness, prevented mistakes through moral guidance
  • Recognition: Large territorial grants (封邑)
  • Example: Advisors who shaped policy and ethical direction

Second Tier - Secondary Reward

  • Criteria: Assisted in execution and helped establish successful outcomes
  • Recognition: Senior positions and noble titles (卿位)
  • Example: Key administrators who implemented reforms

Third Tier - Tertiary Reward

  • Criteria: Faced arrows and stones in battle, performed military labor
  • Recognition: Appropriate honors and positions
  • Example: Military commanders and soldiers

Fourth Tier - Basic Recognition

  • Criteria: Served with strength but did not compensate for leader's deficiencies
  • Recognition: Acknowledged after higher tiers are rewarded
  • Example: Loyal servants who performed routine duties

Implementation Steps

  1. List all contributors and their specific actions
  2. Categorize each contribution by tier
  3. Allocate rewards starting from highest tier
  4. Work downward through tiers systematically
  5. Communicate reasoning to all parties

Expected Outcome

Fair distribution that motivates continued loyalty and recognizes true merit.

Verification

  1. Confirm that all contributors have been listed and categorized by specific actions before rewards are allocated.
  2. Validate that moral guidance advisors (Tier 1) receive greater recognition than those who performed only physical labor (Tier 3-4).
  3. Check that the reasoning behind each tier assignment has been communicated to all parties to maintain morale and transparency.
