next-intl-add-language
SkillDev toolsThis skill lets your AI add a new language to a Next.js application that uses next-intl. Once added, your AI can translate the app's content files and wire up the new language so it works end to end.
Instructions available. Your AI can read the instructions. Execution depends on the setup they require.
Account requirements not reviewed. Check the skill instructions before use; ahel provides instructions and does not run this skill.
Add the skill, then tell your AI which language you want to add to your Next.js app. It will translate the files and update routing and language switching for you.
Then ask your AI: use the next-intl-add-language skill
What your AI can do with it
- Add a new language to a Next.js app
- Translate the app's content files
- Update routing for the new language
- Update language toggling so users can switch to it
What this skill tells your AI
The instructions your AI receives, as published by github/awesome-copilot in skills/next-intl-add-language/SKILL.md and read by ahel’s review.
This is a guide to add a new language to a Next.js project using next-intl for internationalization,
- For i18n, the application uses next-intl.
- All translations are in the directory
./messages. - The UI component is
src/components/language-toggle.tsx. - Routing and middleware configuration are handled in:
src/i18n/routing.tssrc/middleware.ts
When adding a new language:
- Translate all the content of
en.jsonto the new language. The goal is to have all the JSON entries in the new language for a complete translation. - Add the path in
routing.tsandmiddleware.ts. - Add the language to
language-toggle.tsx.
