remotion-captions

SkillSearch

This skill guides an agent through transcribing, displaying and animating captions in Remotion videos. Captions are handled as JSON using Remotion's Caption type, which stores text, timing and confidence values. The skill points to separate instruction files for transcribing audio or video, displaying captions in a video, and importing captions from .srt files.

Then ask your AI: use the remotion-captions skill

Details

Instructions available. Your AI can read the instructions. Execution depends on the setup they require.

Have a Remotion project set up where you want to work with captions.

What your AI can do with it

  • Transcribe audio and video files to generate captions
  • Display captions in a Remotion video
  • Import captions from .srt files
  • Process captions as JSON using the Caption type
  • Store text, timing and confidence values for each caption

Getting started

What this skill tells your AI

The instructions your AI receives, as published by remotion-dev/remotion in packages/codex-plugin/skills/remotion-captions/SKILL.md and read by Ahel’s review.

All captions must be processed in JSON. The captions must use the Caption type which is the following:

import type { Caption } from "@remotion/captions";

This is the definition:

type Caption = {
  text: string;
  startMs: number;
  endMs: number;
  timestampMs: number | null;
  confidence: number | null;
  pageBreakAfter?: boolean;
};
