Before writing a CREATE TAG statement:
- Read
references/parameters.mdto review all available parameters and their defaults. - For each parameter, decide whether the user's request implies a non-default value.
- Include only the parameters that differ from the default or that the user explicitly requested — do not bloat the DDL with unnecessary clauses.
- Never use
CREATE OR REPLACE— always useCREATE TAG IF NOT EXISTS. - If the user wants to restrict tag values to a specific set, include
ALLOWED_VALUESand list it before all other optional parameters. - Only include
PROPAGATEandON_CONFLICTif the user explicitly requires automatic tag propagation (Enterprise Edition feature). - Tag names must start with an alphabetic character; enclose names with spaces or special characters in double quotes.
- Do not place any sensitive, regulated, or personal data in the tag name, allowed values, or comment.
