Overview
This skill provides a structured workflow for conducting post-phase and post-milestone retrospectives in the SDLC pipeline. It analyzes test execution performance, identifies developer friction points during the Red-Green-Refactor loop, produces retrospective documents in docs/retro/, and updates project memory. This skill accompanies the /tdd-retro agent.
When to Use
- At the conclusion of an SDLC milestone or feature release (after
/tdd-generate-docsor/tdd-code-review). - When test execution becomes sluggish or intermittent test flakiness is observed.
- When you need to summarize lessons learned and update
memory.instructions.mdbefore starting a new feature cycle.

⚙️ Operational Workflow
Phase 1: Test Suite Metrics Ingestion & Diagnostics
- Execute the test suite with timing flags enabled (e.g.,
npm test -- --verbose,pytest --durations=10,vitest --reporter=verbose). - Parse test execution durations and pinpoint the top 3-5 slowest test suites.
- Identify tests exhibiting non-deterministic behavior or timing dependencies.
Phase 2: SDLC Process & Friction Review
