Look up companies in official European business registers

An EU company registry lookup for your agent: find a company in official business registers, read its record and registered status, and find its LEI, with the register, licence and date on every row.

The problem

You need to confirm that a European company exists, what its legal name and registry code are, and whether it is still active. Every country runs its own register with its own search page, and register data aggregators are usually sold as yearly plans.

Use Ahel. For each company in my list (name and country), find it with companies.register.search. For the best match, read the record with companies.register.profile and the status with companies.register.status, then find its LEI with companies.lei.search. Give me one row per company with legal name, registry code, status, LEI and the source of each fact, say which countries were not covered, and tell me what it cost.

Which registers

Ahel serves official register data for Estonia, Finland, Norway, Latvia, Ireland and France (SIRENE), taken from each register's open data and refreshed daily or as often as the register publishes. LEI lookups use the global GLEIF index. Company search can also try a second provider for other countries, and the result names which one answered. Each row carries the register's name, link, licence and date.

What is not included

No directors, shareholders or beneficial owners, no VAT number checks and no filed documents. A country or field that is not covered returns nothing and costs nothing. If you need many more jurisdictions, such as US state registers, a broad aggregator like OpenCorporates covers far more ground; Ahel is a pay-per-call option for the countries above.

Going further

companies.check combines identity, status, financial headlines where the register publishes them, possible sanctions matches and public procurement awards into one sourced report that states its gaps. companies.watch checks a company daily for changes. Both are in the catalog with their prices.
