Google Trends API for AI agents: search interest over time and what is trending now

You want your agent to tell you whether interest in a topic is rising, compare two keywords, and see what is trending today across networks. Google Trends is built for a browser, and each network's trending page is another tab to read by hand.

google.keywords.trends returns one row per date and keyword with date, timestamp, value and query, where value is the relative interest from 0 to 100 that Google Trends shows. google.keywords.volume rows carry keyword, search_volume, cpc, competition, competition_index, low_top_of_page_bid, high_top_of_page_bid and monthly_searches. tiktok.trends.hashtags rows carry rank, hashtag, posts, video_views, country_code, period and trend_direction; youtube.trending.videos rows carry title, channel_name, views, likes, comments, duration_seconds, published_at and category; x.trending.topics rows carry trend, volume, time_period and observed_at. Every row keeps its provider and when it was collected.

Trends values are relative: 100 is the peak interest for that keyword set in that period and place, not a count of searches. Use google.keywords.volume for monthly search counts. The trending lists are a snapshot at the time of the call, so run them again to see movement, and pass a country for each one.
