Reddit API for AI agents: search posts, read threads and comments

A Reddit data API your agent calls over MCP: search posts by keyword, find subreddits, list a subreddit's posts, read a post with its comments and look up a user's public profile, paid per call with no Reddit app or login.

The problem

Your agent needs to know what people say on Reddit about a product, a problem or a brand. Registering an app and handling OAuth and rate limits is work your agent cannot do for you, and running a scraper means proxies and fixes. You want one call per question, priced before it runs.

Paste this into your agent

Start free, no card needed. Your agent runs each step and reports the cost.

Use Ahel. Search Reddit for posts about "<your product or topic>" from the last month with reddit.search.posts, sorted by top. For the ten posts with the most comments, read the thread with reddit.post.comments. Quote the total before you run anything, then give me a table with subreddit, title, score, comment count and URL, summarize the main complaints and praise with a link to each, and tell me what it cost.

What a result looks like

reddit.search.posts returns one row per post with query, post_id, title, body, author, subreddit, score, upvote_ratio, num_comments, created_at, post_url and external_url. reddit.post.comments rows carry comment_id, text, author, score, created_at, permalink and parent_id, so your agent can rebuild the thread. reddit.user.profile returns username, total_karma, link_karma, comment_karma, description, verified and created_at. Every row keeps its provider and when it was collected.

Public data only

These tasks read public posts, comments and profiles. Private subreddits, direct messages and anything behind a login are not available, and a removed post returns nothing. Posts and usernames are personal data: use them for research or product work, quote with a link, and follow the GDPR and similar rules where they apply.

What it costs

When we checked on 2 Nov 2026, reddit.subreddit.posts cost $0.000165 per request, reddit.user.profile $0.0011 per request, reddit.search.posts $0.001639 per result, reddit.post.detail $0.00165 per record, reddit.post.comments $0.002068 per request and reddit.search.subreddits $0.0022 per subreddit. Shown prices include Ahel's margin, several providers sit behind most tasks, and every run is quoted before it starts.

More Reddit tasks

The Reddit platform also has a subreddit's profile and rules, a user's posts and comments, comment replies, trending searches and the popular, news and games feeds. Describe the job and your agent finds the task and its price.
