Screen companies against OFAC and EU sanctions lists

A sanctions screening API your agent can call: check company names against the OFAC SDN, OFAC Consolidated and EU financial sanctions lists, with the list and date behind every possible match.

The problem

You onboard suppliers, customers or partners and want a first sanctions check on each company before you go further. Downloading the official lists and matching names by hand is slow, and most screening tools are sold as annual contracts.

Steps

3
  1. Read sanctions source coverage and freshnessNo charge

See which official lists are covered and when each was last refreshed, so you know what the check ran against. Security · sanctions.sources.status

  2. Check a company name for possible sanctions matches$0.02 per successful call

Check each company name, with its country and registry number when you have them, for possible list matches. Security · sanctions.screen.company

  3. Read a sanctions entity record$0.002 per successful call

Read the official list record behind a possible match by its list identifier. Security · sanctions.entity.get

Example cost for 100 rows

  • Read sanctions source coverage and freshnessNo charge

    100 x No charge

  • Check a company name for possible sanctions matches$2.00

    100 x $0.02 per successful call

  • Read a sanctions entity record$0.20

    100 x $0.002 per successful call

At most, for 100 rows through every step$2.20

Steps charged only when a result is found cost less when nothing is found. Paid from your prepaid balance at the quoted customer price. No top-up fee. Pay per call; each call’s price is shown before it runs. Each run is quoted before it starts.

Try it

Paste this into your agent

Start free, no card needed. Your agent runs each step and reports the cost.

Use Ahel. First run sanctions.sources.status and tell me which lists are covered and how fresh they are. Then for each company in my list (name, country and registry number if known), run sanctions.screen.company. For every possible match, read the record with sanctions.entity.get and show the list, the listed name, why it matched and the list date. Give me a table with company, result and source, and tell me what it cost.

What it checks

Three official lists: the US Treasury OFAC Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list, the OFAC Consolidated Non-SDN list and the European Commission's consolidated list of financial sanctions. Ahel downloads the official files and checks them daily. Only legal entities are matched; listed people, vessels and aircraft are left out.

What a result means

A hit is a possible match on the normalized name or a listed alias. It is not a legal determination, and no match does not clear a company. Screening of owners and directors, OFAC's 50 percent rule, and UN or UK lists are not covered. If a list has not been checked within 48 hours, the screen stops with an error instead of answering no match.

What it costs

Each task page shows the live price, and every run is quoted before it starts. The coverage check has no charge, and a screen that finds no match is free.
