Sanctions screening API for AI agents

A sanctions screening API your agent calls over MCP: check a company name against the OFAC SDN, OFAC Consolidated and EU financial sanctions lists, screen a crypto wallet against OFAC, and read the official record behind each possible match, with a price before every run.

The problem

Your agent onboards a supplier, approves a payment or enriches a company list, and you want a sanctions check in the same flow instead of a separate compliance tool. Screening services are sold as annual contracts with their own portals and keys; your agent needs one call it can make per company, paid per call.

Steps

5
  1. Read sanctions source coverage and freshnessNo charge

See which official lists are covered and when each was last refreshed, so you know what the check ran against. Security · sanctions.sources.status

  2. Enrich a company from its domain or name$0.002 per successful call

Enrich the company from its domain or name first: legal name, country and LinkedIn page, so you screen the right entity. Company data · companies.enrich

  3. Check a company name for possible sanctions matches$0.02 per successful call

Check the company name, with its country and registry number when you have them, for possible matches on the OFAC and EU lists. Security · sanctions.screen.company

  4. Read a sanctions entity record$0.002 per successful call

Read the official list record behind a possible match by its list identifier. Security · sanctions.entity.get

  5. Screen a crypto wallet against OFAC sanctions$0.02 per successful call

Screen a crypto wallet address against the digital currency addresses on OFAC's SDN list before a payment. Security · crypto.wallet.screen

Use Ahel. Run sanctions.sources.status and tell me how fresh the lists are. Then for each company in my list, enrich it with companies.enrich to get its legal name and country, and screen that name with sanctions.screen.company. For every possible match, read the record with sanctions.entity.get and show the list, the listed name, the match score and the programs. If a company gave me a crypto wallet, screen it with crypto.wallet.screen. Quote the total before you run anything, then give me a table with company, result and source, and tell me what it cost.

What a live check looks like

On 2 Nov 2026 we screened the name "Sberbank of Russia" with sanctions.screen.company. The run cost $0.02 and returned eight possible matches across three lists: an exact alias match (match_score 1) on PUBLIC JOINT STOCK COMPANY SBERBANK OF RUSSIA on both the OFAC SDN and OFAC Consolidated lists, with programs UKRAINE-EO13662 and RUSSIA-EO14024, the EU entry "Sberbank" with its regulation 2022/1270, and similar-name matches on related banks with scores from 0.8 to 0.9. Every row carries the list, its licence and the date it was last updated (OFAC SDN 28 Oct 2026, OFAC Consolidated 19 Oct 2026, EU 23 Oct 2026 on that day).

What it checks

Three official lists: the US Treasury OFAC Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list, the OFAC Consolidated Non-SDN list and the European Commission's consolidated list of financial sanctions, downloaded from the official sources into Ahel's own registry and checked daily. Only legal entities are matched. A hit is a possible match on the normalized name or a listed alias with a score; it is not identity proof.

What it does not do

It does not screen people: listed individuals, vessels and aircraft are left out, and ownership screening and OFAC's 50 percent rule are not assessed. UN and UK lists are not covered. No match does not clear a company. If a list has not been checked within 48 hours, the screen stops with an error instead of answering no match.

Wallets and company data

crypto.wallet.screen checks a Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether or other address against the 1,074 digital currency addresses on the OFAC SDN list, $0.02 per match and free when nothing matches; the guide to crypto wallet sanctions screening shows a live run. companies.enrich and the official register tasks in the companies platform give your agent the legal name and country to screen, and companies.check combines identity, status and possible sanctions matches in one sourced report.

What it costs

sanctions.screen.company and crypto.wallet.screen cost $0.02 per run that finds a possible match, and a screen that finds nothing is free. sanctions.sources.status has no charge, sanctions.entity.get costs $0.002 per record read, and companies.enrich is priced on its task page. Every run is quoted and reserved before it starts, and only the exact cost is charged.
