What is an MCP server?
The Model Context Protocol is the open standard AI clients use to call tools. An MCP server is a program that answers those calls: it publishes a few tools with their inputs, and the AI decides when to use them. Most are written by the people who needed them and published as open source, which is why this list is long and uneven.
7,966 of the 11,226 servers listed here can be served through ahel today. The rest stay listed so you can find them and read what they do, and their pages say plainly that ahel cannot serve them yet.

Your client's tool list stays the same size whatever you connect: a server's own tools are read with the tools verb and run with the use verb. Keys are sealed in ahel and injected server side, so a credential never crosses the link.
