DMARC Checker
Check a domain's DMARC record, see what its policy really does, and get the exact fix. You also get a verdict on whether the domain is ready to send cold email. Free, no sign-up.
What this checks
- There is exactly one DMARC record at _dmarc, or one the domain inherits from a parent.
- The policy is valid, and says whether it enforces anything.
- Reports go to a mailto address, so you can see what fails.
- pct does not leave part of your mail uncovered.
- MX and SPF too, for the cold email verdict.
Questions
What is a DMARC record?
A TXT record at _dmarc.yourdomain that tells receivers what to do with mail failing SPF and DKIM, and where to send reports about it.
What is the difference between none, quarantine and reject?
none only reports. quarantine sends failing mail to spam. reject refuses it. Most domains start at none, read the reports, then move up.
Do I need DMARC to send cold email?
Google and Yahoo require a DMARC record from bulk senders, and p=none is enough for that rule. Without one you also cannot see who else is sending as your domain.
What does rua mean?
It is the address that receives daily aggregate reports. They show which servers send as your domain and whether they pass.
Why is DKIM not checked?
A DKIM record lives at a name that includes a selector, and only your sender knows it. Without the selector a check could only guess, so this tool says it was not checked instead.
